Watch the above film to learn about the rich boarding environment at Westonbirt. Full, flexi and weekly boarding is available. Following the successful transition to coeducation and with 40% of Key Stage 3 now made up of boys, our Boys Boarding House is launching from September 2021.
Flexi-boarding is offered for up to 3 nights a week, while weekly boarding offers the best of both worlds; students can enjoy school during the week, work hard and spend lots of time with their friends, then relax at home with their family at the weekends.
It is the sense of community and the beauty of the house we occupy that makes boarding at Westonbirt such a magical experience. Routines are established in the boarding environment that enable teenagers to form successful habits and learn to manage their time, and ultimately their studies, more effectively.
“Over the years, very many from school look back on Westonbirt with great affection; with gratitude for mental stimulus and growth, the first stirrings of laughter shared; for the deep healing peace of the surrounding park and the strong shelter of the house, which somehow, however illogically, they feel is particularly theirs.” Westonbirt Alumni
Following the successful transition to coeducation and with 40% of Key Stage 3 now made up of boys, we are extremely excited to be launching boys boarding from September 2021. Boys will board in Badminton House in contemporarily decorated dorms, enjoying magnificent views across the back lawns.

With many years of experience in pastoral care at Westonbirt School, Sally Gould creates a 'home from home' environment running Dorchester and Beaufort Houses with her spaniel puppy, Scrumble. Sally is ably assisted by Isobel Viola who, as a past Westonbirt boarder, is insightful and supportive to current students.
Dorms are bright and cosy and students can decorate their spaces with pictures and personal effects. Each house benefits from a common room where students can enjoy movie nights and board games once prep is complete.
